英语水平
For admission purposes, all students must meet the English language proficiency/competency requirement.
There are several options we accept. 的细节, visit our 英语水平 Options page.
A waiver of this requirement is automatically granted to applicants whose education is from countries where English is recognized as an official/native language.

Admission with pending 英语水平
Selected programs may grant admission to applicants who qualify academically, but have not yet achieved the 365滚球官网's minimum English language requirements for full admission.
Students granted admission enroll in 365滚球官网's American Language and Culture Program (ALCP) to achieve the minimum language requirement and achieve the academic department’s English language requirement prior to being granted full admission and commencing their degree program. If the required level of language proficiency is not achieved within a two-year time period, applicants may petition to continue in the ALCP, and will need to reapply for admission with the 研究生招生 Office.

- Our graduate programs are highly competitive and therefore may not be able to accept students in the this admission category.
- Successful completion of Advanced Level Courses in U of I’s American Language and Culture Program (ALCP) substitutes for the minimum TOEFL requirement (79).
- Students seeking admission must submit all international application materials. Some programs/departments require submission of additional documents.
- Contact the department to which you are applying to determine if there are additional requirements.

Foreign Credential Evaluation 服务
U of I 研究生招生 Office offers a complimentary transcript evaluation service for our applicants. The process of grade conversion consists of balancing many variables to arrive at an equitable assessment of individual achievement. Grading practices are dynamic and can vary within a given country or even within a single institution.
We will accept evaluations from professional credential evaluation services. There is a list of the five professional credential evaluation services from which U of I will accept evaluations.
